Rule Sets

By using the eSports Tilt services and participating in tournaments you agree to adhere to, follow and comply with the following rule sets:

  1. Platform Rules
  2. Standard Rules
  3. Specific Rules
  4. Custom Rules

A tournament's rule set will always include the Platform Rules and then a collection of sub-rules from the Standard, Specific and Custom rule sets.

Platform Rules

The Platform Rules are the set of rules that govern the use of the eSports Tilt platform. They are a rule set that is common to every tournament. Please refer to the Platform Rules for a full description of the rule set.

Standard Rules

The Standard Rules are rules specific to the tournament structure and are applicable to any game and game type. The Standard Rules describe the rules and structure of the following:

  1. Round Robin
  2. Single Elimination
  3. Double Elimination

Specific Rules

The Specific Rules are rules specific to a game and/or a game mode. An example of a Specific Rule set would be eSports Rules.

Custom Rules

The Custom Rules are customised rules that the tournament creator may want to include. These custom rules supersede and overrule the Standard Rules and Specific Rules but never override the Platform Rules.
The Custom Rules include map selection and the tournament creator may specify the method of selecting the maps.

Conflict and Ambiguity between the Rule Sets

Due to the structure and flexibility of the rule sets it is understood that from time to time rules will exist that are ambiguous or that are in conflict with one another. The rule sets have a hierarchy and a lower rule set can never overrule a higher one. The Platform Rules can never be overruled and they will always govern if another rule is in conflict. The Custom Rules overrule all the rule sets except the Platform Rules. The Specific Rules overrule the Standard Rules and the Standard Rules may not take preference over any rule set. The hierarchy may be summarised as follows:

  • Platform Rules
  • Custom Rules
  • Specific Rules
  • Standard Rules

Disputes pertaining to ambiguity must be referred to eSports Tilt.
